An AI consultant for small business
If you are searching for an AI consultant for small business, you have probably noticed the gap. The big firms are built for much larger companies. A chatbot is built for a simple question. Your company sits in between: too small for a big firm and too complex for a chatbot.
I'm Tyson Bernthal. ForgeFoyer is an AI operating company for established, owner-led businesses in the US. We connect AI to the systems and information your company already uses, and we do the implementation for you. This page explains how we work and what you can expect, so you can decide whether a conversation makes sense.
What an AI consultant for small business should do first
Most conversations about AI start with a question like "What can we automate?" or "What AI tools should we be using?" We think the better question is this: where is your company carrying operating weight that it shouldn't be carrying anymore?
Sometimes the answer is AI. Sometimes it's automation. Sometimes it's connecting software you already own, or capturing knowledge that is trapped in somebody's head. And sometimes the right answer is to keep a person right in the middle of the work.
That is why we don't begin by selling you an AI agent, a chatbot or a predetermined piece of software. We don't know what you need yet, and neither does anyone who hasn't looked carefully at your business. So we start with diagnosis.
Too small for a big firm, too complex for a chatbot
You probably have plenty of software already: CRM, accounting, ERP, project management, email, spreadsheets, maybe a field-service platform. Some of it may be very good. The trouble is what happens between the systems.
Someone copies something from one system into another. Someone checks an inbox. Someone sends a text. Someone follows up because the system didn't. Someone asks what happened with a customer three months ago. Your software holds pieces of the business, and your people are still connecting the pieces.
Then there is the knowledge that lives only in people's heads: how to handle a difficult customer, what went wrong with a previous order, how a problem got solved when nobody documented it. Whether you are a founder, a CEO, an operator, or the manager who has learned all of this over the years, you know how much depends on a few people.
Your team may already be experimenting with AI tools. Some of it is impressive. But there is a big difference between people in a company using AI and a company actually knowing how to use AI. That gap is where we work.
The AI Operating Blueprint: where AI belongs in your company
The AI Operating Blueprint is our diagnosis, and it is where every engagement begins. Before anyone puts serious effort into AI, automation or new software, we determine where it actually belongs. We look at your business through several lenses: people, knowledge, workflow, systems, AI itself, and the business case. That last one matters because something being technically possible doesn't always make it worth doing.
The goal is not to find the most places we can put AI. It is to find the places where improving the operating system of the company really matters. If you are wondering where to start with AI in your business, this is the answer.
You receive a written, decision-ready plan, not a hundred-page report to admire. Every opportunity falls into one of four categories:
Do Now: meaningful value and a credible path to implementation. Do Next: a good opportunity, but something else should happen first. Wait: an interesting idea that doesn't deserve your attention yet. Keep Human: work where judgment, relationships, control or the business case says a person should stay responsible.
Each recommendation carries its reasoning. If the right answer is software you already own, another specialist, or documenting a process first, the Blueprint says so.
If you want it built, we implement AI in your business for you
The Blueprint belongs to you. You can have ForgeFoyer implement it, hand it to another provider, give it to your internal team, or decide not to move yet. You receive an editable copy and the supporting working documents either way.
When ForgeFoyer does the implementation, the work is scoped around an agreed business outcome, with milestones, ownership, acceptance criteria, controls and explicit exclusions. The goal is a working system your company owns, without artificial technical or knowledge lock-in. We may keep the software that earns its place and design the operating layer, workflows, integrations and human checkpoints around it. Nothing is replaced by surprise.
Here is our guarantee: AI that saves your company time and money within 90 days of going live. Or our work is free.
If we propose implementation, it's because the Blueprint showed us where you'll save time and money, and we agree on those savings in writing before we build. If the Blueprint doesn't show savings we can stand behind, we won't propose the work.
A company that keeps running while you're away
Think about this. If you stepped away for thirty days, what would start falling through the cracks? Wherever the business depends on you to remember, approve, explain or follow up, there is usually something worth fixing.
We have built our own operation around a shared operational memory that connects information, decisions, customer history and ongoing work. Anyone on the team can ask what is happening with a customer, where a project stands or what changed this week, and get the context in seconds. Projects move with less chasing. Follow-up stays connected instead of disappearing into inboxes.
Your company is not ForgeFoyer, so we would never copy what we built for ourselves. What we bring is firsthand experience of what happens when AI becomes part of how a company operates. That helps you leverage AI where it matters and use it effectively, instead of adding one more tool for people to manage.
None of this is about replacing your people. It is about getting good people out of low-value coordination work, so they have more time for the work that needs a person.
The first step is a free 30-minute call. We pick one recurring operating problem, look at where it shows up, who touches it and where it breaks, and decide whether a deeper look is justified. If I don't see a strong case, I'll tell you. Book your call at forgefoyer.com/book.
Questions owners ask
Do I need to understand AI to work with you?
No. The Blueprint is written in business language, every recommendation carries its reasoning, and nothing is built until you have approved a plan you fully understand.
Does the Blueprint require ForgeFoyer to implement it?
No. A recommendation might be ForgeFoyer implementation, another provider, software you already own, knowledge capture first, waiting, or keeping the work with people. If that is the honest answer, that is what the Blueprint will say. The roadmap is yours and usable with anyone.
Will you replace the software we already have?
Not by default. The Blueprint determines what should be preserved, connected, extended or built, and you see that plan, challenge it and refine it before implementation begins.
Will AI replace our people?
No. We free their workflow so they can contribute more to the company's success. In practice that means fewer manual handoffs, less chasing and re-entering, and more time for work only your people can do. Where work should stay with people, the Blueprint marks it Keep Human.
